Hi,
My future employer recently obtained a positive LMIA so that I may be able to apply for a Work Permit in Canada. I understand that this would make me a Temporary Foreign Worker that may be working in Canada for a minimum of 2 years (as per the LMIA).
Regarding the visa types for my wife and child:
During the online application, I have a few options to select for the reason why my spouse and child are coming to Canada. My wife has no plans of working since my child is 2 years old right now so she will be taking care of the child. We are all applying for the Temporary Residence Visa.

- Would it be better to apply for an Open Work Permit for my wife and a Study Permit for my child?
- If I get the Work Permit for a minimum of 2 years, will the duration of the visa be the same for my wife and child?
