I am currently in Paris, France and I am interested in immigrating to Canada along with my wife and 2 kids. I have several cousins in Manitoba and I just want to ask if any of you knows how to process if i'm located in France. Do you guys know what I need to start with the sponsorship?

Please help. Thank you.

Your cousins do not qualify to sponsor you through Family Class.

However you may qualify to immigrate under the Manitoba provincial nominee program. You should post your question to the Provincial Nominee section of this forum.

Why is that? Is it because of my location?

This one cousin of mine that's been in Canada for 10+ years was able to sponsor his older brother and family, 2 of our cousins(and families), and just about a year ago was the brother (and family) of his sister-in-law.

I'm not sure how one person was able to sponsor that many people..

you could apply in the skilled worker class, and gain points for having relatives in Manitoba to help you adapt!

That was probably through the Manitoba PNP stream. (Cousins don't qualify to sponsor cousins through the family class program regardless of location). That is why I have suggested that you post your question to the PNP section of this forum.

@sariss: He didn't petition them at the same time. plus after the brother there was about 3 year gap before the cousin then another year after other cousin and about 2 years after comes the brother of his sister-in-law.

@scylla: will do that, thank you!

Thank you guys for the input!

I meant in the sense that through family sponsorship, he wouldn't have been able to sponsor that many people, time doesn't really matter.

Good luck!
