Hi there,
I'm a Canadian citizen sponsored my parents in 2010 (before the new rule)-I know it will take long to get processed, they haven't even started processing here in Mississauga.
My sister has applied for visitor visa for them and they got it and now they are here in Canada for 6 months visitor visa.
I want to keep them here as long as possible or until sponsorship is somewhat get processing and I've some questions hope someone really answers them.
1) Can I apply for super visa for them?
i) If I can do they have to go back home? Can't I do while they are here? Can they do from any other country other than Canada if within Canada is not possible?
ii) If I can apply for super visa, will that affect their sponsorship like delay in processing or any other issues?
iii) Someone suggested that I take them across the border and apply from Buffalo, is that possible for super visa? If that possible, do they have to stay until super visa get processed or can we come back here as long as we provide a contact details in Buffalo?
iv) In this note, do they need USA visa to cross the border, and if they have single entry visa to Canada can they come back from USA?
2) If I can't apply for super visa, I want to extend their visitor stays for both of them and what could be a good reason to put so that their extension is approved?
i) How often can I extend their visitor visa, if that's possible and everytime what could be the reasons I can put in?
ii) My mom visited Canada once before but for my dad this is the 1st time, so I think we have a history that they'll go back home and won't stay in Canada but this time I want to keep them as long as possible since they are 77 and 71.
3) Do I have any other options to have my parents stay here longer?
4) Does anybody think I can directly ask these questions to CIC and get a clear answer, will they answer the details?
5) Any humanitarian options; I really feel bad to send them back home at their age since they have noone back home to take care.
I would greatly appreciate answers/thoughts; it's been really hard and hope these questions will be useful for others in similar situation as mine.
Thanks in advance,
Ehdi
