Hi,

I was away from Canada and have moved back few months ago. At the POE, I was told that I don't meet RO, as I was away since the pandemic broke. However they let me enter and didn't fill out any paperwork or form 44(1) etc.

Now can I sponsor my family, wife and kids? Or will that cause an issue? Any member who might have gone through this situation?

Thank you.

You need to wait until you meet RO before you submit the application to sponsor your family.

Would you by any chance have a link to the regulation which states this? My PR is valid for another 1.5 years and as I stated that I have moved back and started working here now.

Your PR card expires in 1.5 years, not your PR.
When did you initially landed (got your PR status) and how many months did you live in Canada.
You need 2 years in the last 5 years to meet your RO. Then you can sponsor your wife and children.

You were told you don't meet RO at the POE, so you need to meet your RO in order to sponsor your family.

Your account likely has been flagged for not meeting RO given your interaction so you want to avoid having any contact with IRCC until you are back in compliance. You got a warning and weren’t reported but if you have another interaction there are no guarantees.

How long have you been in Canada in the past 5 years if this is not your first PR card? Have you had multiple children and gotten married since March 2020?
