We sponsored my in-laws from the Philippines on the Super Visa program.

It looked like you could apply for PR in-country, but now it looks like things have changed again and it's definitely no. Can anyone confirm if they can apply for PR as in-country, or does it need to be out-country?

If so it looks like they'll be returning to the Philippines soon and we'll start the process- we're aiming for the 2015 quota for family class. Does anyone have any updated information on processing times for Philippines? I see there's a thread here but it's now almost 4000 pages long and I don't see a lot of actual timelines :)

There is no in-land processing for parent / grandparent applications (there never has been). The application will be processed through your in-laws' home country visa office. They can, however, be visitors in Canada while the application is being processed through their home country.

You should expect it will take several years for your in-laws' application to be processed. I would count on it taking an absolute minimum of 3 years - but quite likely more.

That's what I thought, unfortunately - thanks. I was a bit confused because it looks like there's some shorter timelines in the Philippines thread but it's not really clear.
