My husband alone applied for canadian immigration in Dec 2005 through the WWICS, India. I am a Student in a Canadian University ( for the past 1 year)and my kids are here as my dependents. Now that my husbands immigration is due, they have asked to submit the visa fees for family. I am planning to apply in this Oct as I belong to the Biology teacher category. Do you think it will be good to apply on my own and just my husband processing his application at this point. Kindly advice.

Your husband needs to apply and include his family. If you try to do it on your own you still have to declare your family, and if you try to renew your FSW permit yourself and it is denied then what do you think you will do?
There is no way of going around trying to stay without doing the propers measures.Do it correctly and you wont get into problems, you and your husband trying to file separatley may only cause both of you and your children problems.

Could you explain a bit further< I am a student here for the next three years ( on a scholarship), but there has been no decision made on my husbands application till date. Thats why I am asking you whether it would be a good idea if I also applied , given the fact that these applications on skilled migrant category are looked into as early as 2 months and decisions taken within 6 months.

You may apply for your PR if you want to but you would have to include your children and husband in your application. Your husband also needs to include you and the children in his application. Whichever application is faster, you can withdraw the other one.
