I totally agree with Baloo and Kelkel. This is a life and death situ and way more important that immigration.
I was going to say the same thing Baloo, the immigration officers are human too and if questioned about it then tell the truth.
I am so sorry to here about your husbands grandfather, its a sad situation.
I hope you decide to go, I'd hate him to regret it later on.

Sorry to hear about your husbands grandfather. I would go. Life is far to short and I wouldn't never let immigration stand in the way of me being beside someone I love in their time if need who I may never see alive again!!! I would travel with your husband take all documents (application, receipts) needed. All communication up to date from Buffalo and take the risk.

I would never want you to regret the decision if you choose not to go.

You're in my prayers & thoughts.

KelKel - you are so awesome - I'm so glad that we are friends :)

Always here for ya! xo

You can all be my friend lol.

I too am American and I applied inland this fall. Within a month of submitting our application my father was diagnosed with Cancer, needless to say I wanted to travel home whenever possible, especially when he was undergoing a 10 hour surgery.

When an application is in process inland it is not recommended to travel, but at that point I didn't really care about immigration anymore. I went have been back to the states twice since my application has been in process and have never had any problems at the border. The only difference, I am a student here as well so here on a study permit, but they could still deny me entry if they wanted and they have never even come close to it!

Hope this helps sorry to hear about your husbands grandfathers health.

Also....my father is doing very well...and I plan on traveling to see him again in February, my priorities will always be with my family. And in a way this shows that I still have ties to the US an would never stay in Canada if not permitted to legally.
