Hi All... I too have been lurking around for sometime and gathering all the information possible from the forum...
My husband and I submitted our application on the 31st December 2012. Sponsorship approved 22 Jan 2013....
The Canadian Embassy in London confirmed receipt of my application along with mine and my daughters medical reports ... Now Just waiting for them to start processing the application. Desperate to start living my life with my husband, I wish they would hurry up... its costing me a fortune in flights flying back and forth every 12 weeks.....The flights are getting more and more expensive as time goes by... Anyway I shall not go on, as some have been waiting a very long time....

All the best :)

You are looking at about 5 months at least once it arrived in London.

Come and join in the UK thread - it'll give you a better idea of when people get an answer etc. http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/thread-for-outland-london-uk-applications-t49436.9480.html
If you're visa-exempt, you can also "move" to Canada before your visa is issued, and wait it out in Canada with your family. BUt I guess that with a child, most likely in school, it's not really an option.
Anyway - good luck for the wait!

Thanks for the advise... We were thinking of hiring a private tutor as my daugter is due to start her second year of her GCSE's... I really don't know what to do for the best :-\

You are not the only one, I could buy a house with the costs of the flights I have done and will be doing :)

Generally speaking, if your husband has no status in Canada, then you can't use the family application.

Post your question to the International Students section of this forum. The people there will have a better idea how to help, as this part of the forum is for Canadian PRs and citizens sponsoring their spouses. They are completely different processes.
