Hi and Good morning to one and all,

I have been a Canadian resident since May 2016, so i applied to sponsor my wife around Dec 2017, and she got her passport request couple days back. My first question is how long until she has to enter Canada once her single visit visa has been stamped on her passport ? medicals were done May 2018.

Second question is whether or not she has to carry any proof of funds or any minimum amount of cash when she enters Canada.

Thank you very much for your time and responses

She will likely get until May 2019 to land.

No proof of funds is required.

Hi Scylla,
thank you for your reply, its just that she has a 3 month notice period to serve with her current employer and we dont want an expiry on the visa until atleast Feb 2019. Is there any way i can be sure about this ?

The only way you can be sure is once she receives her passport back with the COPR. The COPR will have an expiry date on it.

It should say on the COPR document what date she has to enter by.

yes im sure the COPR has one, but just curious about an average timeline

Already answered. A year from the medical.

Again, the only way to be sure is once you have the actual COPR.
