extension on criminal record check deadline

Hello Canada Visa forums!

You've all been very helpful in the past and I really appreciate it.

My spousal sponsorship with my wife is moving along quite well now. However our latest information from CIC included this line:

> Police Certificate: From each country/state where the residence period has been six months or longer since the age of 18, provide an original police clearance certificate from Singapore This must be received at this office by: 2016/07/14

We mailed off the forms to Singapore last night (same day we received the notification from CIC), but it takes time for mail to reach Singapore. Will probably take time for them to process and then time to send it back.

Is it possible to ask CIC for more time on this request? One month seems very quick to me.

Write a letter of explanation (LOE) and submit with evidence that you have applied for PCC.

Show any recipt or proof that you applied for SG PCC and upload it while waiting to issue u the clearance..
