Hi All,
I have got a PR Visa which expires on 17th Mar-16. We are three members- me , my wife ,and 2 years old son.
My query is a bit weird. I want to enter canada with my wife offcourse before the expiry however can not take the kid right away with us. In this case though Me and my wife's PR Card will be applied however my son's visa will get expired.
Now is there a way that I can get a visa extension for my son and then take him into Canada after some time?? If yes , how and where I should contact. Also should I take the pre approval or i should start the process after the expiry only.

Please help

Hi

No, they will not extend your child's COPR/visa. He must land by the expiry date.

There is enough time. Why can't the kid travel alongwith you?

You can land and return right away if u wish, PR Card can be sent to you by family/friends if possible by post or courier

Actually, while it is true that if your kid's visa expires, there's nothing you can do about that, if you don't mind going through the whole process again, as long as one of you (the PRINCIPAL APPLICANT) lands on time (before the visa expiry) and becomes a PR, you will have no problem petitioning for your child, and he WILL ultimately get Permanent Residency, since he is a minor and your dependent. (I'm not sure what the time frame for that will be in Canada. If it is anything like it is here in the US, then it is a matter of another 6 to 8 months max).

Hi Canvis,

Ya you are right why we all cant land when we have enough time , however the problem is different. I am just trying to gauge what if it happens and what should be the process/money/time/effort required.
