There's no format for extension letter.just email and give dem ur reasons why you want dem to extend

I, (name) is one of the prospective international student from India. I have been accepted into (course name) for the Fall 2011.


Due to certain unavoidable circumstances concerning my pending student visa status, I may not be able to join classes on (starting date). So I would like to defer my admission till next possible intake in (Jan/Sept 2012).


I intend to continue with (school name) and I am confident that I will be one of the participating member of the next intake cohort.
