Hi, we applied for inland sponsorship and owp Jan 24th waiting for AOR.

My wife has a return ticket back to her home country Feb 25th, planning to spend 2-3 weeks to visit and come back to Canada with one way ticket. She has eTA status until May 5th, 2021

1. Its a short trip to visit her family and have no future planned trips outside Canada until PR application is complete unless any family emergencies happen. Most likely she wont have issues coming back into Canada right? Will it have issues with application process?

2. I am aware you have to have valid status while owp is processed. current processing time takes approx 4 months. Originally, her 6 months status from date of entry ends April 12th, 2019. Its very tight because application was submitted on Jan 24th. Should I submit application for extending her status or because she is planning to go out of the country and come back sometime middle of March it automatically renews 6 months status?

Thanks

She SHOULD be OK, especially as from a visa-exempt country, but of course no guarantees.

Will it have issues with application process?

No.

Unless of course by some remote possibility she is refused entry on her return, in which case the spousal sponsorship will likely be deemed 'abandoned' (which is the chance you take with inland sponsorship).

If she goes on the trip at the end of February for 2 - 3 weeks, then she will get visitor status when she returns almost certainly form the standard 6 months (if she is re-admitted), that should be plenty awaiting the OWP.
