my wife, living with me, her student visa is expiring soon,
we applied for sponsor/PR last month
since visa extension take few months, can she still stay while her visa extension is in process?
wouldn't easier to just hoping in and out of US boarder and get 6month stamp?

No, not necessarily easier because in doing so, she leaves Canada and they don't have to let her back in. She is eligible to apply by mail to extend her status because she has a PR ap in process. As long as the extension application is received by CPC-Vegreville BEFORE her status expires, she's under "implied status" to remain in Canada until they make a decision on the extension.

One consideration: did you apply to sponsor her via the inland or the outland process? This is important!!

OK, good. Then just be sure to include proof of the valid marriage, proof that there is an outland PR ap in process (sponsorship approval letter if you have it yet, AOR from overseas office if you have that - or, if you don't, send a photocopy of the receipt for your payment of the PR fees). You'll also need to submit a copy of the sponsor's employment letter (the one you sent with the PR ap) and two or three of the most recent paystubs to show means of support. Include a copy of the original status document and be sure that you track the mailing and get delivery confirmation so that you have proof of her "implied status" to remain in Canada under the terms of the original entry. It can take up to three months for them to assess the extension ap - but as long as the application is received by CPC-V before her status expires, you can be assured of her ability to remain in Canada until you hear back.
