Hi All,

I have successfully got a work permit to work in a university till 2020-01-31 but the visa stamp on my passport is till April 2018, meaning that I need to apply for a temporary resident visa.

While applying through CIC online, I was directed to "Temporary Resident Permit" and answered all the questions correctly. The system then generated a list of files, and among them was imm5257e: Visitor Visa (Temporary Resident Visa). It looks quite odd when I had to select "visitor visa" even if I am in valid work permit. It is for sure that a visitor can't work in Canada. In my original visa, the visa stamp says "W-1 Worker". Hence, my question is: Although we have to fill the imm5257e: Visitor Visa (Temporary Resident Visa), the stamp would still be "W-1 Worker"?

Anybody who extended their work permit and gone through the same? Pls Reply.
