Extending stay as a worker application question

Hey all,

I am on a post grad work permit and am applying for an extension. My employer is assisting me with the forms. What permit do I choose?

•An extension of a work permit with the same employer OR
•A work permit with a new employer

I've worked for them for over a year but they didn't assist me in getting the first WP. Am I correct to choose WP with new employer. I also have a PNP nomination with the same employer.
