I have a question. My husband and I have temporary work permits (mine is an open spousal work permit while his is charity related). We both activated our permits in November last year but something came up and I had to return home five weeks later to resolve it.
Unfortunately, i was diagnosed with breast cancer a few weeks after and had to take a decision to remain and get treated considering the fact that I had great medical insurance to do so and I did not think it was ethically right to lay that on the Canadian healthcare system. My husband has been in Canada all this while.
My question is: How does this affect my status considering I might not be done with treatment until early 2023 going by the treatment plan I was given? My permit expires at the end of October, 2023, and my visa expires in May 2023.
