Dear Friends,

I'm in Canada, during a outland sponsorship. I need to extend my visa. Is it better to do online or by regular mail (since it takes longer and you will be in implied status)?

Also, I would like any tips you might have. I plan to show: my marriage certificate, copy of CIC paid fees, bank statement indicating the money we have here in Canada as well the money I have in Brazil, as calculated by Brazil central bank. Is this enough? Should I include some letter from my wife indicating she is supporting me? Do they need their payments from employment (she makes minimum wage).

The paper application is showing a time of 114 days while online is 50 days. If you`re trying to hold off as long as possible, paper is the way to go.

Make sure to include lots of proof that you have the PR application in process. (Yeah, the VO can look it up, but make their life easier.)

I personally included my husband`s paystubs for all my extensions - 3 paystubs from 3 different months. That way CIC knows you have support coming in. I would include your other proof as well for a well rounded application.
