Hi guys

My student permit will be expired on the end of July, 2018. When I applied for my student permit, my school gave me an acceptance letter that says my last semester finishes April 2018. I think that's why my permit ends the end of July..

However, I have field placement from May through August, 2018.. Is there anyway to extend my student permit without paying $150 and providing all financial support proof documents?? Can I claim it to extend my permit through IRCC Webform?

Also,

this coming spring/summer semester, my program do not provide any regular classes. so it could be considered as "Scheduled break" by IRCC. However, I would like to take 2 elective classes since it is hard to take 5 classes in one semester (too many homework and I have part-time work..). I want to take 2 classes during the spring/summer semester, and take 4 classes for each of next fall and winter term.

Taking 2 courses means I am part-time student for the spring/summer semester.

Is it okay to be a part-time student for this term to get PGWP?
Am I allowed to get a full - time job while part-time studying for the term? (I cannot get an even part-time job cuz I am part-time student???)

I am so confused! plz help

You can extend your study permit as long as the field placement is part of your curriculum. you would need to get the letter from college/university to reflect that. It is very simple process and international student centre helps in that as well. Many of my friends done that.

However, you can not apply for extension right now, apply when you are left with 4 months of Study permit duration. You are good as gold right now.

Regarding the part-time work part, if your school is offering scheduled summer break you can work full time 40 hours or more. But taking couple of courses in that off break, I would suggest you to get some legal advice here to avoid any complication. Or just don't take the courses at all and keep it simple.
