Express entry waiting time

Hello,

I wonder if it happens often, I applied under CEC after got the ITA, it's been 7 months and a half since I submitted my application and they also asked more than 2 months ago for the final fee which I promptly paid same day I received the letter ($980), it was for me and my spouse who is in my file.
My question is whether it is normal or not. I heard all of my friends got the PR recently and they got it before the 6th month and right away after paid the final fee...
Should I be worried about that?
Please give me a help.

drop them an email or a fax, maybe the passport is stuck in the embassy still... but 7 1/2 months is not something to be worried about
