Hi guys,

I would like to create an Express Entry profile. I would like to get the points related to my husband's credentials as well, but I think his WES report will be ready in few weeks.
My question is, can I create the profile and "submit" it and add my husbands credentials "after" WES report is ready? or it is like once you submit your profile you can not add/change information?

Also, at what stage can I see the calculated score in my CIC account? Do I have to "submit" my profile and then it will show me my total score, or it will show the score as soon as I create and enter information in my profile? or it never shows me the score and that's stored only internally in their system?

Thanks a lot in advance:)

Wait until you have the WES report as you cannot have an eligible profile without it. I assume you already have your IELTS/TEF/CELPIP scores, the profile also won't be eligible them as well.

You'll see your score once you complete your profile, but you can also get an idea here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/crs-tool.asp

After you set up your EE profile, you're free to edit and change until you get an ITA.

Thanks for the quick Reply.
I used the link you sent and my score with or without my husband's WES will be above 470 - of course with his WES it will increase a bit- (the score is similar to what I got earlier using another link).

So am I right that I can create and submit the profile (and be considered in the pool right away), and then update the profile when we receive his WES results to increase the chance a little bit?

Thanks again.

Are you forgetting to mention something? Does your husband have Canadian education or work experience? If so, please mention it, so that we can be on the same page.

An ECA (from WES or others) is absolutely required when applying for FSW: without any Canadian education or work experience, your Express Entry profile will be ineligible, so it's useless to create one without the result.

The cases where an ECA is optional is when applying in CEC or FST. If your husband is applying under CEC, then you can create an EE profile without providing an ECA.

My husband has no Canadian Education or work experience (he has European ones, which I know doesn't count).
I have 1.5 year Canadian work experience (+ 3 years foreign work experience).
The system apparently gives me more points for my husband's education (if evaluated by WES).

The thing that you said regarding "an ECA is optional is when applying in CEC". As far as I searched weeks ago, you don't have to provide ECA if you are considered under CEC, but the point is YOU NEED TO PROVIDE ECA EVEN UNDER CEC in case you need/want to get the points related to your education (without ECA you loose all the education points).

Thanks.

That's exactly what "optional" means, if you want the option of additional points for your education.

So I assume that I can submit the profile without WES report for my husband and in case we don't receive ITA before receiving his WES report we will add that to increase the chance. Please let me know if there would be any problem with this approach.

Thanks.

You left one more thing ambiguous: who is the principal applicant? I am getting the implication it is you, so go ahead.

Yes, I am the principal applicant. Thanks a lot!
