Hello,
I have been reading all the forums on this site and I am hoping that someone can help me and my fiance...
I am a citizen of Canada and my fiance is from Ireland. He is in Canada on an IEC visa which expires on December 29, 2019. He had submitted his application for PR in the beginning of November and got a rejection letter on the basis that the application was incomplete - his police certificate from Scotland was deemed unacceptable for some reason (we are looking into this). He has re-entered the pool, the next draw isn't until December 11... which is cutting things very closely.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to what to do if he does not make the draw? Should he apply to change his status to visitor? In which case he cannot work...
Is there another work permit he can apply for, or can he extend his current IEC? I was looking into the IEC extension and it asks for a valid job offer but it seems like it needs specific dates and his offer doesn't have an end date.
If anyone could help us out it would be greatly appreciated...
