Hi,

I have two questions that I would love answered if someone has the knowledge out there...

1. With express entry/skilled worker permanent residence visa, is it possible to wait up to 1 year to activate the visa once it has been processed by CIC? (as with working holiday visa for example).

2. Is it possible to submit the application on one passport and then activate the visa on a new passport? If for example, the original passport expires prior to activating the visa.

Many thanks,
Blake

1. With express entry/skilled worker permanent residence visa, is it possible to wait up to 1 year to activate the visa once it has been processed by CIC? (as with working holiday visa for example). The entry visa you will receive once your application is approved is valid for one year from the date you had your medicals. The expiry date of your entry visa will be indicated in your passport. If you do not land within the visa validity period, you lose the opportunity and will have to apply afresh again

2. Is it possible to submit the application on one passport and then activate the visa on a new passport? If for example, the original passport expires prior to activating the visa. Yes, you can keep the 2 passports together and travel with both. The valid visa in the expired passport and the valid passport together are acceptable for entry here.

Many thanks,
Blake

Hi, see above.

Great thanks very much Pipis. Do you know the situation if the visa has been awarded (but not yet activated - as am waiting up to 1 year from medical to do so) on one passport, but then activated on a new passport?

Any help greatly appreciated.
