Hi All, I am having 7+ years of experience in Software Development and landed Canada 6 months before with Intra Company transfer work permit from MNC company.

I want to apply for the PR in express entry, and when I check for the CRS score, with less than a year experience selection the scores is 450 and with 1 year of experience it is giving 500+ points.

The Work permit which I landed here is for 11 months. How to proceed with this case.. Please advise.

Thanks in advance!!!

Hi,

If your Canadian experience falls short of the 1 year requirement, I'm not sure if there is anything you can do.

However, I'd advise you to check the historical CRS cutoff level for the past 6 months and see if 450 guarantees rejection (or how likely/unlikely you are to be invited). If I recall, I think I got the Invitation to Apply only 2 days after I created my profile with a CRS score of 453 back in September 2018. Of course, it goes without saying that 500 is better than 450 but historical data shows it is very possible for people with 450+ to be invited relatively quickly.

Technically, it is a gamble but from what I've seen - not only from my own experience but from historical data -, the odds are on your side.

This is just my 2 cents.

IRCC tries to finish processing 80% of applications within 6 months. As you have an 11-month valid Work Permit, why don't you try to create a profile now - if your score is above 450. As @Hazelnut_Nutella91 said:

Going back to your timeline, you have 11 months. If you can squeeze in before IRCC's 6-month turnaround, then you win. ^__^
