Hi

I am working on H1B work visa in US and had some doubts about EE

1. If I have a degree from US do I still need to give IELTS to prove my English skills? (I gave GRE in 2010)
2. Can I and my wife apply two separate applications for EE? (Each application would mention the other one as spouse)

Thanks

1. Yes - IELTS is mandatory for everyone.
2. Yes - you will have to pay the fees twice and provide two sets of all documents (including the originals).

Thanks a lot scylla!

When you say original documents for both applications, what all documents does it include? Like say I can provide IELTS original score twice but I cannot provide my original Marriage Certificate (or any such document) twice.

Also, one more doubt since I have Master's degree from US, do I need EAC? (I have Bachelors from India)

Thanks once again!

Yes - you will need to have your education assessed. As for original documents, once the application package is available, you will have to see what original documents must be included with the application. Some will need to be originals - photocopies will be fine for others. If CIC asks for originals, you will have to provide originals in both application packages.

You can both create EE and put each other as spouse. You don't pay anything at this stage (only the payment of IELTS and the validation of your degree, which you would still have to pay if you want points for each one regardless how many profiles you create.

After the EE creation, if both get ITA one of you can decline application.
