Expired work permit! Please help!

I was looking through my immigration papers today and noticed that my work permit expired yesterday. I do not want to go home! Does anyone have any advice that would be useful to me...maybe someone has been in this situation and could give me some suggestions. I tried contacting the call centre but they are closed until Monday. I would like to try and get something resolved before then so I can sleep at night!

To bad you allowed your permit to expire. Well, you can apply for "restoration of status". You must however have a very solid explanation as to why you allowed your staus to expire; and you have 90days (from the date of expiry) to make this application. There is no guarantee that it will be approved though. If you can afford it, i would advice you to consult an immigration lawyer to look closely at your situation to see whether there is something concrete that can be used to support the application.
