Hi Guys,

I was on PGWP and I have applied for LMIA in Toronto to renew my work permit, meanwhile my work permit is expired and I have 90 days to either get my new work permit or return back to home country where I have to serve the mandatory military service :'( . I want to know if I can change my status to visitor while I am in Canada without leaving the country? Or do i have any other option?

Thank you all.

You'll need to apply to restore your status. If your LMIA is not approved yet, you should also apply to change your status to that of a visitor. Yes - you can do this within Canada.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply. Your first sentence says "You should restore" I know that but can I do that without having positive LMIA?

Again, you would restore your status and at the same time convert your status to visitor.

Sorry to bother again, I answered all the Questions in My CIC but it only gives me the option to apply for Visitor Visa not Restore my WP! Can you advise a bit more? Thanks.

You can't restore your work permit. You don't have an approved LMIA.

This is the application http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/visitor.asp.

You need to select "Restoration of Status".

Hi again,

I have to Questions:

1. For the "purpose of visit" is it wise to tell CIC that I am waiting for my LMIA approval while I will be on visitor status?

2. Is it OK if I apply for more than one LMIA in different provinces? Do they interfere at all?

3. Is it OK to apply for different LMIA positions (different NOC) in the same city?

Thanks.
