I am a student graduating this August. I received an email on July 3rd, saying:
"By receiving this email correspondence, you are eligible to study without a study permit as of June 27, 2023, by way of a new, temporary public policy."
It was a policy for work permit holders to study without a study permit.
I had a study permit that will expire on July 21st, 2023, and my term is planned to end on August 2023.
This difference is made because I have done additional co-op before, and the co-op ended in April 2023.
I have a co-op work permit that expires on December 2023, so I thought I didn't have to extend my current study permit.
but I am realizing that I may be misunderstanding the policy, and starting to feel nervous about it.
my questions are:
1. should I have had to extend my student visa? or can I finish my study with a co-op work permit?
2. If I should have, I know that I have 90 days to request restoration. How will it affect the restoration that I kept studying with an expired study permit because I was unaware of it?
3. I haven't taken a term off so far. If my final term is not acceptable, and If I could take the last term again, how will it affect my PGWP?
4. what options do I have if I want to live in Canada?
Thank you for your time
