Expired PR

Hi,

Hope you can help me with that issue. I have a valid PR that is about to expire in a few days time while I am outside Canada. I have been in and out during the past five years but appears when I cout the days i don't meet the 1095 rule. My question is that, if I want to re-apply for PR, would the chances of my application to be accepted remote on the basis that I had a PR and let it expire or this would not be taken into consideration? Taken into consideration that I have valid reason for staying away which is accompnying a cancer sick parent.

You can apply to keep your PR on compassionate grounds. I have no idea what the success rate is for that. You can not renew your PR card outside of Canada but when you are ready to come back, if your PR card is then already expired, you can apply for a PR travel document to come back. You can find the form to fill out at http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/faq/pr-card/pr-card-faq11.asp You will have to fill out your absences from Canada and you can list your reasons for why you did not fill the residency requirements.

Visit and stay in canada while PR in process

Greetings all i need to ask some questions
I have applied for PR as skilled worker my file is on process since 2006 , I made my medical check almost one month ago ...probably I'll get the visa confirmation on Januray , my file is being processed in Paris
Furthemore , my wife she's Canadian living in canada now , i have been in Canada this summer with a visitor visa for 25 day .
my question is , I want to go back to Canada with a visitor visa and wait there untill i get my PR
1) can I extend my staying !! if yes under what motive or change my statu ( waiting for PR )
2) Can I work or have some english classes while staying in canada and waiting for my PR.
3) once i get my PR , will is be easy to get my visa and new status from Canada and make the landing via USA broders !!!
I´ll be grateful for every answers I´ll get from experts

1. When you come in on a visitor visa, you can apply to extend it from within Canada, you can write waiting for PR, spending time with wife while waiting for PR or whatever.

2. You can take some english classes as long as you are not enrolling in a 6 month course or longer.

3. No problem when you get your visa to land via US border.
