Experts plz help - Education Duration, Typical Question

Hi Friends,

In education details of my wife we have a doubt.

she has done her BEd (November-2005 to March-2007) she fall ill during on exam and she got a compartment first certificate says:
BEd Examination 2006, Date of Result March 2007
then she appeared in that exam again and the pass result sheet (which we are using) says:
BEd Examination 2006, Date of Result October 2007

Now my question is which dates should we use for From - To in the education field.

in case i use the second one, it appears to be two years but actually BEd is of ONE year.

My situation is almost similar. I have done B.Com Hons from Delhi University, India. my Grad course is from 2001-04 but I gave an improvement exam now on my degree its written that i was examined in 2005 and bla bla. So I have mentioned only 2001-04 in forms. I don't know it myself what will happen. But if they ask me explanation, then I can show them the reason for it.

I would use the actual years it took to finish the degree (when she started and when she finished) but when counting the number of years, you should count it as if she had finished in the minimum number of years.


For example. Say I do a four year BS. I do it from Aug 2004 to May 2009. I would say aug 2004 to may 2009 on the form but only count four years. I guess that is how part time people would be doing it as well. I don't know if this is the right way to do it but this is how i would do it if i was in the above shoes.

i agree it looks more meaningfull but what it will overlap the next FULL TIME study course, means if you are writing the actual dates of a one year course which u finished in alomost 21 months. then if you will see the next course dates/duration will get overlapped, then won't they think how you were doing two full time courses at one time.

explain it in a letter. Ultimately put dates according the transcripts you will give them. People study full time and work full time all the time, so why not study full time one degree while studying full time another degree. People sometimes do double degree where one is given by one uni and the other by another uni.
