Hello,

I applied for CEC in the last week of August and still waiting for AOR. My Work permit is valid until Feb 2015. Now my question is, in case if I get rejection, what should I do to get PR? What options are there?

I know now you can also extend your PGWP but what if I don't have a job at that time?

Can I apply under different programs like PNP or federal skill class?

Please help

You can apply for PNP depending on which province you intend to settle in.
You can apply for FSW, if you meet the criteria for federal skilled worker program.

CEC is a very good option for PR, because if you have all the required documents + experience, than you are not going to get rejected. Rejections happen for silly mistakes like inadequate months, unmatched duties etc.

If you want to be ready (as a backup plan), keep your documents/forms up-to-date, and once you are rejected apply immediately under the same program (ofc if you are still eligible).

You can apply for PNP/CEC/FSWP simultaneously. But at then end when you are approved, you would have to choose only one program out of these three.

BTW people who applied on Aug 12th or before, are now getting AOR. Since you applied at the end week of Aug, you still have to wait at least another 12-15 days before you get AOR.

Update your timeline with other August 2013 applicants here:

Oh so if I want I can apply for all 3: PNP/CEC/FSWP at the same time??

it wont affect my CEC application for sure?

Why don't people do that then? isn't this the best plan?. For example if u get rejection in one you always have a chance in other programs

People do it often, if you check this forum you will find a lot of users with 2 on going applications.

But problem is, for PNP you have to maintain certain requirements, (like graduating from certain provinces), not everyone can fulfill those.

Being that CEC is a pass/fail system with no fixed quota, it makes sense to just apply for CEC if you are eligible. The other classes come with their own restrictions and costs. For instance the Ontario PNP costs a couple of grand to even apply for it.
