I've been living n Canada from last 4 years and maintained a legal status, however, from last year n half I was not working and on a temperory resident status( legal) now at the time of application for PR status is expired and in order to remain legal I submitted application for study permit. Now I told the situation to the consultant and he said the case is tricky, because you will be asked, how you were surviving being not working, I am staying with my uncle at the moment. Do you think I've been questioned about all this ??
What's sort of documents and LOE should I prepare.

I am in a similar boat. I've been here on temporary residence visitor status since February 2016. My stay period is about to expire next week and I will apply for extension.

As for how you have been supporting yourself, you can show bank statements to prove that you have enough funds to survive without a job. If your uncle has been supporting you, then probably you need to get a letter from him that he has been bearing your expenses. Your consultant might have already told you about this.

IRCC will definitely lean towards the idea that you have been working illegally while on temporary status, so its best to show them enough proof that you have been supporting yourself with your own funds, provide a letter of explanation. Again, if your uncle has been supporting you then detail all of that in your letter of explanation and also provide an undertaking from your uncle.

These are my 2 cents and not a legal advise. Your consultant should be able to guide you better.

If in doubt, go for a 2nd or even a 3rd opinion from other consultants.

I didn't hire any lawyer yet, do you think it's a good idea to go with a lawyer and do I need some more proofs
