experience is different from my qualification, does it count?

What if my experience doesnt match my education? For example, i have a bachelors degree in dentistry anf im working as a teacher..will they give me experience points for being a teacher or will it be zero bec the exp is irrelevant

There has to be some sort of relevance. So far what I figured out from the posts here, you can be highly qualified and doing a low level job, but when it comes to working in high skilled profession and you don't have the required qualification then that can be a problem
