Hi All,

I'm keen to understand what the biggest expenses were for people when they first landed. I've been having a think through and some of the most obvious for me would be:

Car
Mobile Phone
Rental deposit - how much is this usually Vancouver?

I'm not really sure of anything else, can anyone shed some more light?

Thanks

Usually half a month rent deposit plus pet deposit if you have one

Thanks Foodie, any other expenses you can think of?

It has been a while.. lets see what I remember.. ;D

The most expensive items you got, plus probably then your monthly compass card, if needed (Bus, Skytrain). Your car insurance with ICBC (mine is $145 month), groceries, entertainment, your MSP (health) of I think $140ish a month, if not covered by employer..

Hope this helped

Great, thanks foodie, I had a quote from ICBC based on the type of car I'm getting and where I propose to live and it's about $189 per month which seemed reasonable.

For healthcare is the $140 per month for the whole family or per person? we're a family of 4
