Expected duration of employment - closed wp

Hey,
I was wondering what my options are if my employer submitted a job offer through IRCC for a closed wp where the expected duration of the job is 2 years, but the employer is now telling me the job is only available for 1 year.
Is there anything I can do here, or do I just have to accept the shorter contract.

Employer can shorten the duration of the contract.

If you are really unhappy about this, then the action you can take is to find a new employer.
