Hi there,
This is a question about post-ITA application regarding FBI police certificates. As is well known, it is taking a long time to get the FBI certificate. And in many cases, the applicant will not receive the FBI report before the PR application deadline.
I have seen posts mention an extension for the submission of such a document. But what I have not been able to find is a definitive method to get such an extension. If there is a link to this, please do share it with me and others who may be wondering about this issue.
So, essentially, is it:
1. At the time of submitting the application, attach a letter of explanation regarding the FBI document as well as proof of application (and then CIC will later send you a message saying that an extension has been granted until such and such date?)
or,
2. Well before the application deadline, contact CIC (how?) and request an extension for the PR application deadline itself?
And if 1, would it be advisable to wait till just a few days before the PR application deadline to submit it?
