Ex-husband had a criminal record

This is James' wife using his account for the purpose of this question.

I was married previously to someone who, I found out AFTER I married - had an old felony on his record. We have been divorced since 2006. I was not anywhere near him and did not even know him when he committed the crime. Am I going to be denied living in Canada for someone else's criminal record? I am really worried about this. I no longer even speak to this person, and haven't since 2006 when I left, because he was very abusive.

Oh thank goodness, I am so grateful that you three replied to me. When I remembered this about him (when working on paperwork for family class) my heart just sank with terror. I feel so much better about this and I appreciate that you took the time to respond.
