He applies for a visitor visa. To get the visa, he needs to show he can afford to travel to Canada and he must show strong ties to India. If you want to visit for 6 months, he is going to have to show a lot of funds...say $1000 per week. You can’t enter Canada right now due to Covid. Also you may not be allowed to stay for 6 months. That is the maximum allowed and border officers on entry may only let you stay a week or a month. It is at their discretion.
