Hello everyone,

My husband and I live in Mexico and are planning to visit Canada for 2 months for the holidays and for me to show him Canada. He has never been to Canada before. We are applying for the ETA on DEC 1st, 2016. If approved we will plan our trip to Canada. My question is what are reasons he can be denied entry into Canada when we arrive at the airport? Just because he is granted an ETA the immigration officer can still deny him access into the country. We have the following prepared:

1) a letter from his work stating he is employed in Mexico
2) A letter from our landlord stating he has a lease on our apartment
3) Proof of financial funds (cash, pesos in his Mexican account and also proof of money in my account)
4) Letter from a family member stating that we will be staying with them during our visit.
5) Purchased Health insurance for his visit

I am just paranoid he will be denied entry into Canada at the airport. He has no criminal record what so ever. What are the chances of being denied entry into Canada with an ETA plus all the information listed above.

Thanks!

If he has a return flight plus all of the evidence you listed below - he should be fine at the border. His work letter should state the dates of his vacation and when he's expected back.

Okay thank you so much!!! We also have an application submitted for family class sponsorship. Should this affect anything?

I supposed it's possible this could impact the ETA issuance. ETAs are really too new for anyone to say.

It shouldn't impact anything at the border.
