Hi all,
Not sure if this is the right forum for this question. I filed my taxes by myself for the first time yesterday in preparation for my citizenship application. While filling out the forms online, I noticed that one of the first questions is if you became a PR in the previous year, and then another one is if you are a citizen. I looked at the paperwork my accountant gave me previously and I noticed that he assumed I was a citizen and marked me as such for the 2017 and 2018 taxes. I should've been marked as becoming a PR for the 2017 taxes and definitely not as a citizen. My question is if this is a big deal, especially now that I'm about to apply for citizenship. Should I be concerned? Is this something my accountant can fix?
Thank you, all! I'll appreciate any responses
Victor
