Hello,
I'm completing my student permit application, and I have a couple of questions. I am a Colombian citizen currently living in the United States, and I will be applying from the Canadian Embassy in Colombia. When filling in my application, it asks me my "current country of residence" to which I answer "USA". I'm then asked the "country where I'll be applying" to which I answer "Colombia", with a status of a "citizen". Then I'm asked the dates I "from" (my birthdate) and "to"(2001) I have been living there (as specified by the online instructions found on the CIC website); however, when I fill in the "to" date, the computer tells me that the format I entered is wrong and that the "to" date should be greater that today's date.
This is kind of confusing as I'm specifying in my application that I have been living in a different country all this time, but that I will be applying from the embassy of my country of nationality. Is the computer error just a mistake they have made or is it not possible to apply from my country of nationality because I am not living there?
I NEED HELP with this!!! If I can't find a way to fix this, then I wont be able to validate the application and get the barcode that they require me to print and send with my application package :(

Thank you all.
