Has anyone encountered a problem whereby on your COPR the date of original entry is wrong and once you landed the officer didn't change it.

In my case my original date of entry was July 21, 2011 and on my COPR it was January 20, 2014 (which is impossible cuz how would I have satisfied 12 months of CEC?). Anyways I landed everything is OK but I just noticed it and the officer didn't correct it? Is that a big deal?

I know that lots of ppl have mistakes in that field in COPR but has anyone got it corrected by the officer while landing? I know it is just another paranoia of mine but I wanna avoid questions in future such as how could it be 2014 and you already have your PR and so on. Should I call CIC and remind them to change it to 2011? Or should I leave it as it is while waiting for my PR card?

Yes. :)

Right now it's not, but it might become a problem when you plan to apply for citizenship, or for tax purposes. But don't worry, this can easily be corrected.

Read through this post: > http://cectoolkit.weebly.com/faqs/errors-or-wrong-information-on-the-cpr-do-i-have-to-have-that-corrected
It's a simple and quick application ( and free ) where you can get the dates corrected. The current processing time is about 6 months,
but you don't have to land again or anything, they only require a copy of your CPR and that's it. I submitted mine about 2 months ago,
still waiting for hear back.
I received my PR card in the meantime, which doesn't contain any errors, so I'll just wait until they correct the information in their systems.

Hope this helps.

Thank you Toby!

So just so that I shut up and stop being paranoid. Even though officer said it was ok in your case, he did not correct the dates, did he? I told my officer about my dates he just said don't worry about it and didn't do ANYTHING with them.

PR card does not have the original date of entry, does it?

Was your PR card sent for verification by any chance? What I am asking is can mine be sent for verification due to impossibility of my participation in CEC because of my original entry as of 2014 which is false like I mentioned above?

Thank you so much, bro!!!!

Correct, because he can't correct the dates. This has to be done using the application I mention in the post on my website.

No. Only your DoB, the validity date and the date you became a PR.

My original entry date was wrong too. Don't worry about that :) File the application and you'll be fine.

Thank you so much, bro!!!!

Hi,
I had the same problem as you with the wrong entry date. When I landed I did tell the officer and she said it is ok as it happens quite often. She also mentioned the correct year I first came to Canada, that meant all my information is already in the system even though the date showed on the CoPR is wrong.
Having said that, I did send the document in for correction like Toby mentioned above. Since he received his PR card no problem, I feel more relieved now that it won't affect the PR card processing time.

The officer in my case told me that they can't correct the dates, since they're CBSA employees and not CIC.
So I'm not sure, I would recommend - as you did - to file for correction in any case and get the date corrected.

Hi,

I landed on May 7, 2014. The original date of entry was wrong in my case too. I also seem to have 2 client id numbers. The immigration officer who recorded my landing noted both these points in the comments section of my COPR. My file was sent for verification on June 25, 2014 and I am still waiting for my PR card. I applied for an amendment to my COPR a couple of weeks ago. I guess getting the COPR amended is a long drawn process, 6 months at best :(. It is best to get your COPR amended because this affects when you become eligible for citizenship and probably also your retirement benefits.

Hi everyone! I had the interview on 21 June and an agent said that I landed on that day and wait for pr card. However ,after waiting for 1 month and try to get social number. They said that my file is not update. I called to landing team and they said they had some mistake about my file, and now they updated my file was landed on July 18 and I have to wait pr card from this day. Too sad. And now, the landing date on system is 18 july, but on my COPR is 21 June. I have to come back to my country . So, Will it be easy to approve for travel document for new permanent residence? I'm so worried about that if they do not approved for my travel document . Please give me some advice.Thank you.
