Hi All,

I've just received my IELTS result from IDP
I had
L-8.5
R-9.0
S-7.5
W-6.0

I need a 6.5 in each section to pass my requirement. Do you think I should opt for an EoR? Please help me, I really need advice !! Thanks in advance !!

is it academic or general ?

I would say EoR but it would take around 10 weeks, are you ready for that, if not, then reappearing would be your best bet.

Academic. Yes, I do have time for that, I'm just quite afraid to lose the money it costs RM 470 for EoR. and also, I'm doing my IELTS with IDP. I heard that if I did my IELTS with IDP then it is quite hard to have an increase in grade if i did EoR, is it true??

Yes with IDP it's hard, my take and other's feel that IDP = bullshit.

It is risky. Some get upgrade, some don't. I gave via IDP UAE and got 6.5 writing so opted for EOR. I waited 5 weeks to find out it is unchanged. Lost money and time.

Personally, I would advise you to resit for the exam. It is not difficult to get 6.5 in writing. Make sure you follow ieltsliza well. Your intro, body paragraphs, and conclusion should be focused on the subject matter and each paragraph should have a clear role in the essay. The body paragraphs should have one central main idea, then you explain that idea with supporting sentences and example.

The real challenge is getting 7 and above.
