Entrepreneur Category - lack of response from CIC

I immigrated to Ontario, Canada under Entrepreneur Category. I started my business here and in July 2011 I submitted the requisite form IMM 5547 alongwith all supporting documentation. When I did not receive any response from CIC until February 2012, I called the call centre about my case and was advised to send CIC a letter asking for status. I sent the letter on 8th February but got no reply. In May 2012 I faxed them still another letter but that has also not received a response.

Is this lack of response common / normal? What should I do now?

You mentioned that you started your business in July 2011.. IMM 5547 is the application to remove the conditions imposed on the Entrepreneur class, however you must prove to CIC that you have met the conditions for a minimum of one year and from what you have described you would not have completed a full year when you submitted the IMM 5547.

One would still think they should at least ackowledge receipt of your documents and advise you accordingly though.

Perhaps I did not word that correctly. I started my business in July 2010 and SUBMITTED MY IM 5547 IN JULY 2011 as directed by CIC in their letter dated May 2011.
