Entering with one way ticket even with DM?

Taking the dog so can't go pass mid Mar due to higher temperature. DM on ECAS 4 days ago, mycic not updated yet, still in process. No interview request and no request of addtl info in between so approval is an approval n not rejection.

Is it too risky to buy a one way ticket now and enter as a visitor comes March should COPR still not received?

Not clear in your post but you are suggesting a plan where you would try entering on a one way ticket along with shipping your dog as a visitor ?

It is hard to believe that you won't have your CoPR by then.

The problem you are likely to have will be with the airline and them letting you get on the plane for Canada in the first place! It has been noted by others that after several weeks if no CoPR is received, that IF you get to the Canadian border (most people trying this have flagpoled back in from the US via a land border) AND can prove you have DM (and have waited several weeks for the CoPR but still not arrived), that you can ask for a CBSA superintendent and they can access the CoPR electronically from their systems and print it out there and then, but it is not something that they routinely do apparently (personally I wouldn't chance it in anything but extermis).

Also suggest you check air fares carefully, on many (but not all) airlines, one way flights are more expensive than return flights (certainly true of Air Canada and BA from the UK - I didn't believe it until I checked myself). So it might even be financially to you advantage to have a return flight and not bother with the return!

You will also of course need your list of goods accompanying and good to follow for Canadian customs.

Sorry. Bringing the dog only emphasize the fact that the plan can't be postponed to later. The dog is registered under my name currently and as a visitor, I can still take the dog with me claiming she's also visiting.

One way ticket is more expensive but allows change in dates/time of flight for free. 2 way ticket is cheaper but fixed.

You may be right on the fact that even the airline won't let me fly with one way ticket without the COPR, let alone what may come up with the immigration officer upon entry.
