Hi,

I have finished my IELTS but waiting for WES evaluation. Can I enter the pool with the IELTS and without the WES evaluation? Can I update my profile once I enter the pool?

No,
you have to have at least 1 language assessment on hand and ECA of your foreign studies. Only if you have Canada credential the ECA is not needed (for that credential)

I have not studied in Canada so I need ECA. WES is taking ages with my file.

Unfortunately you have no choice but to wait.

Patiency is the key in this game. Later on you will find that 1 month or something very short compared to some waiting you have to go through here (people are waiting like 1 year or more for some provincial nominations or almost 2 years in the system as their CRS is not high enough).

Entering the pool with no educational qualifications gives me some 300 points. So is it possible to not claim points for education and enter the pool and then claim points once ECA is done. Once I'm in the pool, I will be able to join Job Bank, etc.

There are some basic conditions when it comes to EE.
1. you need to achieve at least 67 points under FSW system (67 out of 100). Just in order to do that you need to have on hand at least secondary school degree (since you have no Canada experience). And even high school degree from outside Canada has to be assessed.
2. You can create EE profile as such but you cannot properly activate it without language results and ECA. Such profile if not activated within 60 days after being created will become ineligible (without even entering the pool).
3. if you try to activate such EE profile, it will either not be able to do that or the profile will become ineligible within 24 hours because you will be most likely lacking enough points from the FSW part (those min. 67 points).
4. So practicaly you will do that, just to activate job bank but without being really able to do with it anything and having to do it again.
5. As for job bank you will find soon enough that this one is just to have it. As most of the job offers there are only for LMIA. They know whom to hire and they just need to advertise.

Relax and wait for your ECA number then create and activate it.
