Hi everyone, say my mothers visa will expire on 20th June of this year. Will she be allowed to enter Canada on 2nd June (i.e. 18 days before expiry)? She has already applied for a visa renewal but due to the slow process (because of the Covid), the approximate time to get a new visa is 365 days. Will she be allowed to stay beyond June 20th (I have a surgery that is on June 22nd and that's the primary reason she's coming to Canada)? How can she get the visa extension?

Thanks in advance for all the inputs.

Yes she can enter Canada. It will be up to CBSA to determine what length of visit she is given up to 6 months. I would suggest your mother travel with proof that she has applied for a new TRV and is waiting for a reply due to delays and proof of your surgery date and recuperation time that will be required, Your mother will have to do hotel quarantine for 3 days and will have to quarantine away from you (especially given your surgery and contact with the healthcare system before surgery) in either a basement or AirBnB/hotel for the rest of the 14 days,
