Hi all, does anybody have any idea whether I am allowed to enter Canada after the start date on my Visa? As a hypothetical example, if I have a study permit/visiting research student visa valid from 1 Apr to 1 Dec, can I enter Canada on 15 Apr, say?

If in general, entering late to the country is possible, is there any limit to the number of days I can delay my entry? (I will definitely enter before my Visa expires.)

How about entering Canada earlier than my Visa issue date?

*More details:
I am a Singaporean undergraduate, and I will be going to University of Waterloo for a research project (probably under the identity as a visiting research student) for a period of 8 months.
The complication is, I will be entering Canada from London (I have a student exchange there prior to the research project in Waterloo), and that I am not sure of when I can leave London for Canada (due to unconfirmed examination dates).
I am considering, thus, to apply for a Canadian study permit/visa earlier to give myself some buffer, so that I can enter Canada whenever I am done with my examinations in London. This of course involves me (very possibly) entering Canada on a date later than the Visa issue date, which is the main concern that I have.

I would be grateful if someone with the relevant experience can guide me on this. Thank you!
