Hi

My Work Permit expires in October and I will be leaving Canada in early September for a 2 week holidayand returning a few weeks before my work permit expires.

When I return I will stop working on the date my permit expires and in the meantime will have submitted an application to extend my stay as a *visitor* so I can await the result of my LMIA.

I am aware that I will have implied status as a VISITOR whilst the application is being processed - I will NOT be working during this time.

Do you think that the border officers will have any issue with this?

e.g. When I go to enter Canada again they may notice that my permit expires in a few weeks and ask me if I will be leaving the country before that date - is it OK if I tell them that I will stop working before that date but will be applying for permission to stay as a visitor whilst my LMIA is being processed?

I know it is all above board and completely by the book but I am just a little concerned regarding what I should say to the border officer.

i wouldnt advise you to go , i mean why risk it? you do know september is next month

My open work permit visa ( SOWP through my husband)expires end of August/2015, I am going back home in 4 days, and I am coming back to Canada with our daughter 4 days before my visa expires. Our extension will be in process for that time, I am not worried. Should I?
I will let you know is it easy or not:)
