English proficiency examination for PR

Hi all,

I am a graduate from Columbia University, New York. An Indian citizen living in the US. I intend to apply for permanent residency and was wondering if I need to take a language proficiency test as I am a graduate from a US school. Secondly, can I take the CELPIP exam instead of IELTS as there are no available dates for IELTS until April. Thanks in advance!

1. Yes you require either CELPIP or IELTs no exceptions.
